Green Chili Chicken Soup

1 Nov

Recovering nicely from a sugar hangover?  Did you feel the need to take a slew of Ibuprofen this morning, wear dark sunglasses, and avoid loud noises and bright lights?  Yeah…(sigh) me too.

So this healthy, easy soup is totally my ticket back to normalcy from the candy mayhem bender that I ventured upon.  Let me tell you, I looked into the glorious sugary face of evil and it was not pretty.  It was unspeakably beautiful.

Smokey Corn & Lentil Chowder With Shrimp

16 Oct

I thought since it is now mid October and well into our fall season I be a good citizen American girl of the Auh-mericas and post a festive soup-ssha-loop.

It is bonkers simple.  Even as I was typing the word bonkers I knew it was entirely wrong.  Moving along…we are talking this soup can be prepared with your feet, while your eyes are blind folded and death metal is blasting in your face.  Just don’t scorch any little piggies while doing so.  Is that too much?

Bourbon Chicken Chili

9 Oct

Can we talk about how I’m hopelessly falling in love with bourbon?  It’s a downhill slippery slope and I’m taking it at mock speed, on one of those metal disc sleds, no protective headgear, elbow pads, or knee pads of any type.  not even a mouth guard.  I know!

Nothing between me and rock bottom except a piece government metal.

I don’t drink.  But…by golly you’ll have to pry that bottle of bourbon out of my cold lifeless skeleton fingers if you ever tried to take it away from me.  I love it for cooking & baking.  It cooks down and gives a nice deep flavor.

Jalapeno Cheddar Corn Bread Muffins

8 Oct

So guys.  This weekend.  It started out innocently enough and ended in total mayhem.  What started out as a perfectly-crisp-October-morning ended in me almost getting strangled on a mountain top.  I blame the cowboy.

This person, this man that I co-habitat with loves to hike this mountain by our home.  I’m down with that, sometimes.  Usually I’d rather spin or go to my favorite workout class, but I decided I would join him on this outing.  He kept claiming he started taking this “hard” way up the mountain. Yeah, hard, I’ve done that mountain many a time, and it’s not that hard, I think to myself.  Wrong.  Adrienne, you are SO wrong.

Chicken Minestrone Soup

29 Sep

I’ve caught a nasty case of the sniffles and I am completely impossible to deal with as of this moment.

Nothing sounds good to eat, I don’t want to wear proper lady under garments, and all I want to do is cuddle up in my blankie/scarf/wrap  thangy that I’m so in love with.  I guess I’ll consume some of this soup while I’m at it.  I need to keep my strength up so I can continue to be a royal whiny mess.

Gazpacho

6 Sep

I have a serious rant I’m about to go on.  Hold onto your umbrella hats because it’s going to get stormy up in HERe.  OH, you don’t wear an umbrella hat?  Well excuse me.

Okay…here is my serious tangent I’m about to embark upon.  WHY HAS NO ONE TOLD ME THAT GAZPACHO IS THE MOST PHENOMENAL, TASTY, MOUTH-WATERING, LIFE ALTERING, GAME CHANGING, COLD SOUP OF ALL TIMES?!!!!!??!!

Cheesy Broccoli Cauliflower Soup

25 May

Sometimes I don’t have anything to say.  I have no words.

There is nothing to utter, murmur, or convey.  Except for the fact that it is currently 2:56 in the PM and I’m still in yoga pants.  I have yet to shower because I haven’t gotten there.  Yes, I worked out at my 5:15 AM workout class, but that stink has long since blown off of me. It’s a hair washing day and I hate those.  I saw a random peanut on my counter as I walked into the kitchen this morning.  I ate it, what did you think I’d let it go to waste?  What was it doing there?  All I know is it had dropped anchor right there on the counter.  This brought on an epiphany.  I’ll share later.  You just stay tuned.
